9 November 1943 Group A mine clearing between Jersey and Guernsey

9 November, 02:50: sailed four boats to sweep east of route. 03:10: deployed ORG at 35 m 1.5 nautical miles south of Ida 6, double line abreast, port echelon, 200 m. 04:32: reversed 1.5 nautical miles north of Point 332, 0.4 nautical miles east of route. 05:00: NE 3, sea 2, partly overcast, good visibility. 05:20: reversed, 0.5 nautical miles east. 06:10: reversed, 0.7 nautical miles east. 07:15: recovered gear 1.5 nautical miles southwest of Ida 12, no mines. 07:45: entered Guernsey. 08:30, G 197: swept strip 0.8 nautical miles wide east of route, no mines; intend sail 02:30 on 10 November and work until daylight. 16:27–16:35: air alarm; four Whirlwinds flew low northeast-to-south off entrance, shore guns fired, no attack. M 4622 normal readiness Saint-Malo.
