8-9 September 1944
Battery Blucher, Alderney, engaged four LSTs, seven freighters and an escort vessel north-east of Alderney. The ships increased speed and withdrew eastwards. During a Jersey-Guernsey supply convoy carrying grain, potatoes, oats and wounded men, a destroyer approaching the southern portion was driven away by two well-placed salvos from 5./1265, Jersey. A second destroyer was engaged by Battery Mirus and withdrew north-westwards. The convoy entered Guernsey undamaged. Allied aircraft dropped leaflets over Guernsey later that night.
