8 July 1941 Channel Islands Harbour Commandant diary
St Helier: H 7 sailed for Guernsey at 11:25 and anchored in the roadstead at 21:30. St Peter Port, 01:30: enemy aircraft dropped twelve high-explosive bombs on the south-west and west coasts. No military damage. High-explosive and incendiary bombs fell simultaneously at four different places. Wind east force 4, some cloud, sea state 2–3, visibility 6–8 nautical miles. H 7 sailed at 15:00.
