Army ordered Alert Level I for the coast and islands from 21:00 on 7 October; corps passed the warning by telephone at 20:17 and confirmed it by signal. Divisions were to request cancellation next morning once visibility and weather excluded surprise. On their requests corps lifted it from 08:30 on 8 October. Divisions were told at 08:33–08:35, Regiment 585 at 08:50, and army notified.
