7 June 1943 Warning of possible enemy operations against the French coast Annex 166

Top-secret teletype to the 319th, 389th, 709th and 716th Infantry Divisions. Information from Commander-in-Chief West indicates growing signs that enemy operations of different kinds and strengths—commando operations, raids and larger undertakings—may take place against the French coast, perhaps soon. Coastal defensive readiness and the readiness of all reserves to respond to an alarm must be guaranteed. Seventh Army orders that troops be informed immediately of the need for readiness in view of the enemy situation.

Additional instruction for the 709th and 716th Divisions: reserves employed on construction work are to remain in their present quarters. Check preparations for bringing up the columns of Motor Transport Company 84 quickly. Corps headquarters, Ia 1190/43, top secret. Also sent in writing to Mobile Brigade 30, I/Tank Regiment 100 and Artillery Commander 118. The reverse contains transmission endorsements and routing codes.
