Diary Entry
6-7 July 1944
Repeated groups of enemy destroyers and smaller warships were sighted around Alderney and Guernsey. The diary considered that the enemy might be attempting to paralyse supply traffic to the Channel Islands, although it found no firm evidence of an intended direct assault. Enemy vessels generally remained outside the range of the islands' coastal batteries. [T-1022/2174, PG 38470, scans 0688-0708]
