Normandy radar reporting station — 1944-04-06
Night 6/7 April. Wind E–SE6–7, visibility 4–7 nautical miles, sea 1–3, fog. [No special events struck out.] One patrol boat Vp 203, one minesweeper and three vessels Cherbourg–Alderney turned back onto reciprocal course towards Cherbourg at 0225 in lower centre BF3552 because of fog. Locating-signal assistance requested by signal. Eight locating signals for navigational assistance. Later comparison of Epsilon position references showed three signals incorrectly deciphered by the boat and locating point II/35 incorrectly entered in its chart.
Three minesweepers and three vessels St Malo–Cherbourg: radio message 2344/73 ordered passage to St Peter Port because of fog. Two locating signals for navigational assistance. Seventeen locating signals for navigational assistance in total.
