31 January 1944 Island division interpreter ordered to Le Mans training
1. On 9 February 1944 a training conference for English interpreters will take place in Le Mans at the Operations Branch of Army Headquarters, first-floor conference room. Participants: all Ic interpreters for English at Army Headquarters, corps headquarters and divisions. Participants’ names are to be reported to Army Headquarters Ic/AO by 5 February 1944.
2. Timetable, 9 February: 09.00, briefing by Ic, followed by Captain Otto’s lecture on “Anglo-American landing tactics”; 10.45, Captain Kunzmann’s lecture on “The British and American wartime armies”; 12.00, Captain Otto’s lecture on “Landing craft and their capabilities”; 13.15, lunch together at the Hôtel de Paris; 16.00–18.30, Captain Kunzmann’s lecture on “Principles and technique of prisoner interrogation”, followed by reports of experience and discussion. Return to units afterwards.
4. Sonderführer Benkert, 343rd Infantry Division, and Sonderführer Albert, 319th Infantry Division, will report to Captain Kunzmann already on 7 February 1944 at 16.30. Bring documents concerning the training at Oberursel.
