To Naval Commandants Brittany, Loire and Gascony; all naval artillery battalions and all naval anti-aircraft battalions.
Commanding Admiral France telegraphed in secret command matter 8219, duty officer, of 29 September: [insert bracketed text from preceding message].
Addition by Naval Commander Western France: Strengthen lookout and security posts under suitable leadership also within your own area, and ensure the closest attention, especially at night. Conduct gate checks particularly rigorously and examine all suspicious persons. Review infantry defence and establish contact with Army offices. Regulate leave within garrisons so that full combat readiness of the batteries is assured at all times.
Known or suspected landing attempts immediately [continued on following sheet].
