The continued use of foreign entertainment groups for Organisation Todt on the Channel Islands was no longer acceptable from the counterintelligence standpoint. At corps request, Commander-in-Chief West caused the OKW troops’ welfare branch in Paris to stop their employment on the islands. VGAD-I was also instructed immediately to prevent their entry.
Training: Navy ship-recognition course at Cherbourg, 4–15 August, attended by NCOs and men of 716th Division. Army Group D intelligence course at Paris, 16–28 August, attended by Captain Spohr, intelligence officer, 319th Division, and Oberleutnant Graf zu Dohna, third assistant staff officer, corps headquarters.
