Diary Entry
3 July 1942 Radio confiscation and Jersey cable damage
Editorial note: The statements about civilian attitudes are assessments by the German occupation authorities.
In the Channel Islands, radio confiscation was felt to be a severe intrusion. On Jersey a British official made it the subject of distributed leaflets. The report nevertheless states that confiscation proceeded without difficulties. Seasonal vegetables had eased island food supplies. Cooperation with French and British authorities was described as smooth. New Security Police offices were still being established in June.
The June sabotage register records cable damage on Jersey on 17 June.
