3 December 1943 Enemy intelligence for 16 to 30 November

17 November, 09:15: four Spitfires strafed Saint Peter Port harbour and Brehon Tower, four kilometres northeast of Saint Peter Port, Guernsey. They were forced to break off. One aircraft was shot down and hits were observed on another. Own casualties: two seriously and two slightly wounded, comprising two army men, one naval man and one air force man.

Other matters: at 00:50 on 27 November, two men fired pistols at NCO Ziegler of 3/726 on the Colleville–Saint-Laurent road, thirteen kilometres northeast of Bayeux. He was unharmed; the field police investigation was unsuccessful. On 29 November four bodies of British naval personnel washed ashore on Jersey’s east coast; on 30 November one washed ashore on Guernsey’s south coast.
