Sea area northwest of Cherbourg; wind 1–2, sea 1–2, slightly hazy from 0500.
2145: From Sea Commandant: employ radars towards east and north because surface targets sighted [partly obscured by archive stamp]. 2148: From Sea Commandant: employ Hague 2 and Cap Lévy in sector north of Cherbourg because ships sighted. No result in either case. 2215: From area control: employ Hague 1 and 2 owing to detonations near Cap de la Hague. No result.
0116: Unknown detections near Jersey and Percée. 0125: Discussion with convoy control [area control crossed out]: nothing! 0140: To all sets: immediately increase vigilance over whole sea sector.
