Light cloud, visibility 6 nautical miles; S 7–8, very rough sea. 0230: The elevated observation post reported a ship drifting out of harbour. Roslea had received a small patent anchor from the Naval Harbour Construction Office to replace the lost anchor. Despite 60 fathoms of chain she dragged out of harbour and went alongside RO 8 under her own power. 0525: HS 28 returned from patrol. 2245: HS 192 went to patrol position. 2300: Vp 207/202 departed for Guernsey with RO 8. 2320: Lena arrived from Cherbourg; the escort boats remained outside the harbour.
