28 March 1942 St Malo convoy diary

Weather: ENE moderate to fresh breeze, visibility 2–3 nautical miles, slight sea. V 206 returns Jersey–St Malo with Stier after completing the task. V 212/V 211 remain available to Olwe for anti-aircraft protection. V 207/V 204 escort Claus Wilhelm Cherbourg–Alderney, then Gerfried, Claus Wilhelm and Schwalbe back to Cherbourg. During the day they are ordered to sail after dark to Guernsey and on 29 March escort three fishing cutters arriving with V 210/V 208 as far as Cherbourg.

Correction to 27 March, point 5: escorted vessels Comptoir 66, Pointe à Pitre, Helma, Rabat, Gabes, H 67 PM, H 33 PM and G. Guynemer [name reading]. Corrected tonnage: 14,141 GRT. Situation: V 213 condenser repair Brest; V 212/V 211 protect Olwe; V 210/V 208 ready St Malo after arriving from Guernsey at 05:30; V 207/V 204 Cherbourg–Alderney with Claus Wilhelm, back with Gerfried, Claus Wilhelm and Schwalbe, then Cherbourg–Guernsey without convoy; V 206 and Stier Jersey–St Malo, V 206 out of operational readiness; V 209 boiler cleaning St Malo; V 205 dock Cherbourg. Escorted tonnage initially 1,230 GRT; corrected on 29 March to 1,395 GRT.

Intention for 29 March: V 213 repair Brest; V 212/V 211 protect Olwe; V 210/V 208 St Malo–Jersey–Guernsey with three fishing cutters for Le Havre, three tugs and five barges for Jersey, Stier, two coastal motor vessels and Georges for Guernsey; V 207/V 204 Guernsey–Alderney–Cherbourg with three fishing cutters; V 206 unready St Malo; V 209 boiler cleaning St Malo; V 205 dock Cherbourg.
