24 October, 18:45: cast off with convoy. 19:18: formed up, 5–6 knots, M 4625 leading. 21:55, west of Noirmont: convoy under M 4623 continued at slowest speed, 5 knots; M 4625 detached to collect four Jersey vessels, which were absent. 22:35: leadership handed to M 4623; M 4625 and M 4604 searched. 23:55: collected Irene and followed convoy at 6 knots. H 25 PM, Sable d'Or and Holstein not found. Informed Jersey harbour commandant by Morse through signal station. Signed König.
