23 September 1942 Channel Islands Sea Defence diary

Weather: wind from 315°, 3 metres per second.

17:20–17:35: Batterie Strassburg held a practice shoot to test fuzes, firing at L’Etac de Sark island and the adjacent sea. Expenditure: 22 rounds of 22-cm short shells without caps [first digit overtyped]. Shells were found not to detonate on striking water. Otherwise no special occurrences.
