Weather: wind west, force 5–6; sea state 3–4; visibility 1–2 nautical miles; cloud 10/10; cloud base 700 metres.
I intended at 07:00 on 24 November to go from Alderney to the Casquets with F.K. 01, 04, 08 and 17 to inspect the base. At 08:00 I would return to Guernsey with F.K. 01 and 04; F.K. 08 and 17 would return to Alderney.
Convoy order for 24 November 1944: 1. M 4613, F.L. 13 and the lighter Tonkin: Guernsey–Jersey at 08:30. Convoy leader: commanding officer of M 4613. 2. A.F. 65 to sail from St Helier at 08:00 by way of Kreuz 1, 2 and 3, paragraph 1 [uncertain wording], to meet the convoy and reinforce its escort.
