Normandy radar reporting station — 1944-02-23

Night 23/24 February. Wind NE–E5–6, visibility 5–8 nautical miles, sea 2–3. Mammut Jobourg tracks several enemy ships 1010–1120 from left centre BF3148 to left centre 3147; 1300–1448 several enemy ships from lower-right corner BF3145 to centre 2369; from 2350 several enemy ships from right centre BF3147 to right centre 3144. Four modern minesweepers and one steamer Lézardrieux–Cherbourg, deviating markedly from route in lower-centre BF3577. 2338 course 124° to upper-right corner BF3574, then course 32° at 10 knots.

Four torpedo boats St Malo–Cherbourg tracked intermittently until upper-left corner BF3811, then well. In BF3574 deviating markedly from route with irregular courses, tracked by Jersey. From lower-left corner BF3572 detected by Jobourg at 40 km and tracked well to Cherbourg. Ten locating signals for navigational assistance.
