21 March 1943 Coastal and island defence alert
Editorial note: This general alert includes coastal sectors and islands; the passage does not name an individual Channel Island.
In connection with the beginning of the major offensive in Tunisia and further agent reports of imminent enemy attacks against the western area, Commander-in-Chief West orders heightened vigilance and Alert Stage I from 1900 for coastal defence sectors and islands. I issue corresponding instructions to the Navy.
