Weather: South-west to south force 3–4, cloudy, visibility 10 nautical miles, sea 2–3, medium-high, medium-long south-west swell. 0050, Jersey: V 711/22 sailed with La France for Malo. 0500, Malo: M 4604/05/07 sailed for Granville. V 210/12 arrived at Malo with convoy from Guernsey [no separate time entered]. 0600, Malo roads: UJ 1401/02, V 424/704 and M 4047 arrived with Nordvard from Cherbourg and anchored. Remark: additional security measures; anti-aircraft positions around the roads placed on heightened alert. 0630, Malo: V 711/22 arrived with La France from Jersey.
Tasks: (1) combined convoy Granville–Jersey–Guernsey; (2) combined convoy Malo–Jersey–Guernsey; (3) Nordvard, 3,335 GRT [as typed here; 20 January gives 3,333], westward under 3rd Security Division's order. Assigned: (1) M 4604/05/07, independently Malo–Granville beforehand; (2) V 206/11; (3) UJ 1401/02, V 424/704 and M 4047. 0730, Malo: V 206/11 sailed with Holstein, Oost Vlandern and a tug with tanker Vouloir for Guernsey, plus one tug for Jersey. 0800, Granville: M 4604/05/07 sailed with Mazagan, Saigon and Claus for Jersey, and Rheinland, Bizon and Nordplein for Guernsey. 1230, Jersey: M 4604/05/07 detached part of convoy and continued to Guernsey.

Situation for 21 January: (1) V 212/10 complete night troop convoy of 20/21 January Guernsey–Malo, then readiness; (2) V 711/22 complete night troop convoy of 20/21 January Jersey–Malo, then readiness; (3) V 724/23 complete night convoy Alderney–Cherbourg, then readiness [retained despite preceding correction]; (4) UJ 1401/02, V 424/704 and M 4047 complete Nordvard convoy Cherbourg–Malo, evening westward; (5) V 206/11 with Oost Vlanderen, Holstein, tug Quatrième, tanker Vouloir and tug Guynemer Malo–Jersey–Guernsey; (6) M 4604/05/07 independently Malo–Granville, then Mazagan, Saigon and Claus to Jersey and Rheinland, Bizon and Nordplein to Guernsey; (7) C Group of 46th Minesweeper Flotilla and M 4612 ready at Malo. Escorted tonnage: 4,300 GRT.
