20–22 January 1944 Channel Islands Sea Defence diary

No special occurrences.

Construction, Naval Artillery Battalion 604. Batterie Mirus: the battery further developed close-defence installations, including cover pits for protection against tanks. Anti-aircraft posts were installed and an iron door fitted to the bunker at No. 1 gun. Kobold & Bruns carried out camouflage.

Batterie Steinbruch: work continued on anti-aircraft positions 5 and 6, cable trenches, wire obstacles and camouflage. The gardening firm carried out levelling and planting.

Batterie Strassburg: development of close-defence installations and cover pits for protection against tanks; excavation of splinter-protection trenches for searchlight B. The camouflage firm carried out camouflage and painting.

Batterie Lothringen: development of positions and camouflage; further excavation for cable laying; preparatory work for a shelter for the 7.5-cm gun.
