Between 00:57 and 01:05 the Alderney Artillery Group engaged radar-located targets approximately three nautical miles east of Alderney; they withdrew after being fired upon. Increased enemy air activity and suspected minelaying were reported around St Peter Port. At 04:00 Alderney again engaged a target about five nautical miles south of the island. At 08:18 eight Lightnings attacked Jersey harbour, followed at 08:35 by four Lightnings attacking Guernsey harbour. No military damage or casualties were reported; unidentified objects, possibly mines or bombs, were dropped six nautical miles west of La Corbiere. [T-1022/2174, PG 38469, scans 0605-0606]
Rheinland and Dorothea Weber sailed from Jersey for St Malo carrying ammunition, baggage and provisions.
