Diary Entry
19 December 1942 Channel Islands construction totals in the revised programme
The attached army order requires seventy-four percent of planned works in defence areas and strongpoint groups by 1 May 1943, using the 1 November plans as the baseline and crediting completed and current works. The mainland allocation lists twenty-five completed, seventy-two under construction and four hundred still to build; the Channel Islands line lists one hundred completed and one hundred thirty under construction, with the remaining figure indistinct. A construction reserve allows exceptional works such as covering batteries with concrete, hospital facilities or later necessities. The numerical allocation table is embedded.
Translation note: Faint figures in the army enclosure have not been guessed.
