Weather: wind 360°, 5 m/sec. At 03:00, the position boats FK 11 and FK 57 heard the engines of a very low-flying aircraft, although the aircraft itself was not seen. About one nautical mile from Bréhon Tower in the Little Russel, Guernsey, in grid square B.F. 3571 upper left, two objects were seen and heard striking the water. FK 11 went to the suspected dropping point and laid a buoy.
From 22:57 to 23:04, Batterie Steinbruch conducted night firing at a towed target. Ammunition expenditure: 42 rounds 15-cm and 40 rounds 15-cm illuminating shell.
At about 23:28, while returning from this firing, the tug was attacked in grid square B.F. 2669 by a twin-engined aircraft approaching from the north-west. The escorting boats observed three bombs being dropped. No damage occurred and no success by the defensive fire was observed.
