16:27 — Jersey
Battery position 6/1265 reported six destroyers in grid square B.F. 2939, course north-west. At 16:45 the destroyers were reported on a south-east course; at 16:50 they came out of sight on a south-west course.
The following radio telegrams were exchanged:
16:51 to the Minquiers: ‘Transmit immediately observations of vessels proceeding in a westerly direction. Admiral.’
17:18 from the Minquiers: ‘15:15–16:00, five destroyers proceeding west at high speed, with varying courses, range about 20 nautical miles. Dieckmann.’
