St Helier, 20:40: Wind west-north-west, force 3; sea state 2; cloudless; visibility 27 nautical miles. Naval Artillery Battalion 604, Jersey, reported from the observation post at Noirmont Point: bearing 220 degrees, range 15 nautical miles; a cloud from an explosion was observed on a ship. At 21:35 harbour-protection boat H.S. 186 sailed to investigate. St Peter Port, 08:00: two R-boats sailed for Granville.
