16 May 1944 Channel Islands Sea Defence diary
Weather: wind from 315°, 2 metres per second. No. 2 gun of 1./1265 unserviceable for several days owing to modification. 19:00: Batterie Rosenfeste (Naval Artillery Battalion 605) test-fired; no special occurrences. Ammunition expenditure: sixteen 10.5-cm practice shells with large charge. Battery ready for action as harbour barrier battery, without a rangefinder.
