Diary Entry

15 September 1940 Admiral visit and Channel Island harbour inspection

Light overcast, sunny at times. Admiral Gladisch visits Cherbourg and naval installations. Sea commandant inspects the Channel Islands. Guernsey harbour gives a good impression, suitable for small vessels, with good harbour installations. Jersey’s harbour is not as good or as large as Guernsey’s, but can be developed. Signed Asmus.
