15 February 1942 St Malo convoy diary

Convoys proceeded as intended. The transfer of V 204/V 207/V 210 from Brest was postponed, so the 40th Minesweeping Flotilla boats and V 1705 remained available. I therefore sent M 4007/M 4008, already on the Cherbourg–St Malo passage, into Guernsey for tomorrow’s convoy.

Situation: V 208/V 213 departed St Malo 11:20 without convoy for Cherbourg to relieve M 4007/M 4008. V 205/V 206 departed Guernsey 08:30 without convoy for Jersey. M 4007/M 4008 Cherbourg–Guernsey. V 1705/M 4005 departed Jersey 09:15 with H 2, Holstein, two tugs and two barges for St Malo. V 212/M 4000/M 4006 ready St Malo. Escorted tonnage: 3,242 GRT.

Intention for 16 February: V 208/V 213 trials and readiness Cherbourg, possible 16/17 February night convoy. V 205/V 206 Jersey–Granville without convoy, taking over RO 8 and Holland at 09:30 for Jersey, entering with Holland. M 4007/M 4008 at 10:00 from Guernsey with Claus Wilhelm for Jersey, then Schockland to St Malo. V 1705/M 4005 ready St Malo. V 212/M 4006 at 07:00 St Malo–Jersey with Robert Müller, then Derfflinger to Guernsey; take RO 8 over from V 205/V 206 off Jersey. M 4000 ready St Malo.
