The final report on personnel losses in the Channel coast area shows that naval personnel losses in the former fortresses of Calais, Boulogne, Gris Nez, Le Havre, Cherbourg and St Malo total approximately 15,000 men. Another 4,500 are encircled in the Channel Islands and Dunkirk.
