Normandy radar reporting station — 1944-05-12
Handwritten additions: 12 May 1050–1055, bombing attack on La Pernelle. Slight splinter damage to FuMO214, huts and quarters. 1400–1415, bombing attack on Arromanches radar. Slight damage.
Night 12/13 May. Wind ENE–ESE2–3, visibility 8–12 nautical miles, sea 1. Very good radar weather. Enemy transmissions: FuMO214 Cap Lévy 2210–2235 in 40°–67°, 2300–0520 in 50°–64°; FuMO214 Arromanches 0830 in 30°–40°; FuMO51 La Pernelle 0057–0127 in 45°–55°.
Own E-boats departing Cherbourg northwards detected only on return at 14.2 km. FuMO51 La Pernelle 0132–0152 several sea targets in upper centre BF3188 at 640 hectometres; lost 0152 at 638 hectometres. FuMO51 Cap de la Hague II tracked same targets 0139–0355 from centre BF3188 at 476 hectometres via upper-edge centre 3521. Around 0155 there, five stations reported detonations in contact direction between 0144 and 0228. Possibly own vessels torpedoed. 0202 in lower-right BF3521, northward on reciprocal course through BF3188, 3185, then northeast through 3182 to upper-left corner 3183. Lost 0355 by Cap de la Hague II at 778 hectometres. FuMO214 Jobourg same target 0210–0254, detected 420 hectometres, lost 602 hectometres. Probably cruiser or destroyer according to intelligence report [continued].

Continuation of 12/13 May. Intelligence reports 146 and 153, Naval Direction-Finding Battalion Flanders, 13 May 1944. Enemy proceeded southward at 30 knots, departing 16 knots. Three patrol boats St Malo–position south of Guernsey radioed battle contact with enemy fast boats (MTBs). Search ordered south of Guernsey: Jersey and Guernsey sets detected nothing. FuMO2 Jersey 0048–0116 contacts at Roches Douvres, at times coinciding with island, interpreted as fixed echoes. Enemy locating signal radioed, then cancelled. Enemy transmissions received by FuMO214 Arromanches and Cap Lévy from direction Dover. Possible connection with approach of larger targets. FuMO51 La Pernelle 0133–0152. Normandy interception network bearings 0117–0257 on enemy targets coincided with radar detections. Seventeen locating signals for navigational assistance.
