12 June 1942 Alderney Harbour Captain diary
Overcast and rainy with occasional fog, NE 3–4, poor visibility, sea 2–3. 1430: Vp section 202 arrived from Cherbourg with Weber, Claus and HS 12/183. 1620: Hospital ship Huxter arrived from St Malo with Vp section 204. Aboard was the Channel Islands Sea Transport Chief, Captain at Sea Lutter, reserve officer recalled for service, to inspect the harbour installations. 1630 [handwritten addition]: Vp section 202 departed for Cherbourg with Henca, Schwalbe, Lena, Heinrich and pilot boat 4, which had sprung a leak and was going to the yard. 2030: HS 184/187 and Seewacht arrived from Guernsey, carrying General Schmetzer [the typed General Müller with staff is struck out]. 2130: Increased combat readiness. 2200: HS 3/192 went to patrol position.
