12-13 August 1944
Alderney was subjected to an apparent 38 cm battleship bombardment from 14:25 to 16:45, directed by two Spitfire observation aircraft. Approximately 190 rounds were reported. Battery Blucher suffered damage to its radar mirror; one man at Battery Falke was killed. Two guns at Blucher were expected to be restored quickly. At 00:05 the Guernsey Artillery Group fired barrage fire to protect a convoy, while the Jersey and Guernsey artillery groups engaged targets west of Jersey during the night.
