10 July 1943 Group C mine checks and towline failures
10 July, 02:05: Guêpe 76's towline broke; WSW force 3–4, sea 4, good visibility. 04:15: second and last towline broke. Requested a harbour tug from Jersey to bring Maas to Saint Helier. 05:15: tug arrived. Telegram through Corbière to Convoy Office and flotilla commander: “Must enter Jersey with convoy because tug has no more lines. Harbour tug bringing Maas to Saint Helier. M 4600.”
