The two reported detonations cannot be identified precisely by type. In each case an attempt is made to distinguish depth-charge, torpedo, boiler, mine and ammunition explosions, in order to provide information for U-boat warfare.

18:00 — Wind north 2; sea 1; visibility 7 nautical miles; cloud 4/10; cloud base 1,000 metres.

Enemy convoy traffic observed during the day: from Cherbourg, one destroyer; towards Cherbourg, one two-funnel passenger ship and four unidentified vessels.
